Stamp Duty Warning

Watch out First Time Buyers!!!!

 

If you are a first time buyer or a homeowner looking to sell to a first time buyer you need to be aware of the change in stamp duty about to take place on 25 March 2012.

 

Until now there has been an exemption for first time buyers paying stamp duty which ceases on 25 March 2012, so if you are currently buying for the first time you must have your purchase wrapped up before the 25 March 2012 to avoid having to pay stamp duty.

 

If you are a homeowner selling to a first time buyer or have a first time buyer in your chain this could pose a problem if all parties are not aware.
